ABOUT THE MURCIÉLAGO ISLANDS
The Murciélago Islands, located off the northern Pacific coast of Costa Rica within the Guanacaste Conservation Area. Known for their remote location and strong currents, these islands are less frequented, making them ideal for those looking to explore pristine waters.
Diving here offers unforgettable encounters with large pelagic animals such as manta rays and bull sharks. The nutrient-rich waters also draw in massive schools of jacks, snapper, and barracuda, along with the occasional sighting of whales and dolphins.
Visibility ranges between 8 to 20 meters, with water temperatures varying between 23°C and 29°C, making it ideal for experienced divers who enjoy more challenging dive conditions.
During the dry season, the strong winds coming from the North, make the conditions very rough, so this expeditions depend on the weather and swells that affect the area.
The islands are part of the Santa Rosa National Park, so expect to be surrounded by untouched nature both above and below the surface, if you are looking for the best diving destinations in Costa Rica, this is the expedition for you.
